Ration pack packing tips
- 1Count meals per day, then add 1 spare pack for each person.
- 2Keep pouches in a zip bag or container so sharp items cannot puncture them.
- 3Bring a spoon, wet wipes and a rubbish bag. Carry your empty pouches out.
- 4For hot meals, bring a portable gas stove and a small pot to soak the pouch in.
- 5Avoid leaving pouches in direct sun inside a car for long periods.
- 6Check each pouch before eating. If it is swollen or leaking, do not eat it.

Is this a military MRE?
No. MakanHubb pouches are ready-to-eat retort meals. They do not come with a flameless heater or the other extras of a military MRE kit, but they work well as the main meal in a ration pack you put together yourself.
How long do they keep?
They keep for 1 to 2 years at room temperature while the pouch is unopened. Check the expiry date on each pack before your trip.
Do I need to heat them?
No. The food is already cooked and can be eaten as is. For a warm meal, soak the sealed pouch in hot water for a few minutes.
Can I order in bulk for a camp or company?
